While Marcos Valle’s Viola Enluarada may have been his most popular record in Brazil at the time, it remains somewhat overlooked in the states today. Impressive orchestrations by Eumir Deodato map onto moodier songwriting, but the overall package is an excellent representation of where he was at with the genre and where it was heading in 1968.
