Robertinho Silva – Bateria (LP)

Second solo album by legendary Brazilian drummer, Robertinho Silva, on Egberto Gismonti’s always fantastic Carmo imprint. Bateria is a magnificent demonstration of Silva’s explorations in percussion fueled jazz fusion, and it sees him stepping out into unfamiliar, and entirely welcome, synthesizer territory. Great ensemble here too, featuring Nivaldo Ornelas, Ricardo Silveira, Nico Assumpção.
