Joyce – Passarinho Urbano (LP)

Beautiful and undersung Joyce LP. Mostly short, solo covers with an acoustic guitar or with sparse samba ensemble accompaniment. Recorded while on tour in Italy (released in Italy on Cetra) with odes to Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, Caetano Veloso, Mauricio Tapajós, Paulo César Pinheiro, Paulinho da Viola and Chico Buarque, many Brazilian artists censored by the dictatorship. Sample the first three tracks (inspired covers of Veloso, Bosco, and Pinheiro, respectively) for a taste.
